About The Light of Life Trust (LOLT)
The Light of Life Trust (LOLT), founded in 2002, is a public charitable trust registered in Mumbai. Its mission is to break the generational cycle of poverty in rural India, one life at a time. The Trust was established to address developmental barriers such as high school dropout rates, low employability, poor healthcare access, and gender-based disparities.Over the past two decades, LOLT has reached more than 809,000 individuals across nearly 2,000 villages. The organization operates through a multi-sector, life-cycle approach. It began with its flagship program, “Anando,” in 2005, which focuses on preventing school dropouts through academic support and counseling. Since then, the Trust has expanded its initiatives to include youth employability, primary healthcare, livelihood and skill development, and environmental conservation, demonstrating a scalable model for rural development centered on dignity and social mobility.
