Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway shareholder letters – Episode 2
Did you know that in the 1980s, Warren Buffett had invested in two businesses run by sisters?👩👧
Rose Blumkin owned Nebraska Furniture Mart🪑, and her younger sister Rebecca Friedman’s family-owned Brosheims, a jewelry store💍.
NFM runs the three largest home-furnishing stores in the US, and Borsheims is one of the largest jewelry stores in the US.
Both businesses are now owned by Berkshire. Buffett takes pride in how efficiently-run businesses both are.
Buffett likes to acquire such great family-run businesses, but he has often criticized the way mergers and acquisitions are usually conducted.🤝
Watch us discuss this and more in Episode 2, where we cover Warren Buffett’s letters from 1982 to 1986.
