Redundancies for safety: Kite WhatsApp backup
Trading apps rely on a chain of background services to connect you to our servers, including global networks like Cloudflare (powers approximately 20-25% of all internet traffic globally). While these networks make the internet faster and safer, they also mean that if a link in the chain breaks, access to the app can be blocked—even if our internal trading systems are working perfectly.
While we cannot control outages at massive infrastructure providers, we have the Kite WhatsApp Backup service. Unlike the main Kite app, this feature connects to our system using a completely different path. It acts as an “emergency lane,” allowing you to bypass temporary internet issues affecting the main app and reach our servers directly.
We strongly recommend setting this up as part of your risk management. By activating the WhatsApp service now, you ensure you always have a way to check positions and exit trades during rare internet disruptions in the event of network layer failures. Check out this blogpost to learn how to access the Kite WhatsApp backup.
