    Hi Nithin
Why the sort sell is not there in equity?

    • Venu says:

Short selling is allowed only on Intraday basis. You can’t carry forward short positions because whenever you sell a stock, there’s a buyer who has to receive it. In case you short sell and don’t deliver, how will the buyer receive shares?

    Hi,

I have filled out online application form but it seems I got lost at the time of making payment.

You could have put an option to pay for account opening charge thru net banking.

    Thanks, ASMAHADI

Kudos! Zerodha is doing a tredous job.
    I have a few questions :
    1. What benefit do i get in switching over my Demat account from IL&FS to Zerodha.
    2. Can we add a feature of SMS Alert for every succesful trade ?
    3. Please Update the Zerodha App for Apple App Store.
    Thanks 🙂

    • 1. Lesser AMC, and very soon much easier to pledge stocks.
      2. You can login to our backoffice and request for SMS, but u get one SMS at the end of everyday. For live trades it will take time.
      3. Ah.. we will.

I use zerodha pi. I have a suggestion to include normal Nifty chart so that people can analyse nifty chart too. I’m using Nifty futures chart but that is helpful only for analyzing current month data only.

  9. ATUL says:

    Hello Nitin

Thanks a lot for this we love zerodha.

one more think we want is option strategy direct on market watch like rate of butterfly, condor bull call spread, of possible so that in single trade we can place 3-4 trade at a time….

    thanks

    Hi Nithin,

I want some report like attached.

As you are maintaining database for all client data – so it would be quite easy for your IT team to provide such details.

If you provide some more graphical representation of the same that would be great.

Hope to have it soon on Q

    • Vikas, this is already available but in the ledger option. Choose a certain period, and you can sort all entry’s based on Payin and payout. You can also export it to excel.

      • vinay says:

        Hi Nithin,

I tried to follow the instruction given above. The rows are not getting sorted in Q application. I have to download the records and do some pivoting in excel to get this report. I would also request to have the report on payout and payin. I have a experience of CA asking for payout payin transaction during audit. Please consider this request and do the needful.

        Regards

    Hi Nithin
The Equity Curve section in my Backoffice almost never seems to work .
Is there some work going on on that feature?

  12. bpmkamath says:

I am looking at opening a full pledged trading along with DP. I am presently using Ventura 1 who are charging me only 0.007 per intraday and f& O (only one leg brokerage if square off on same day ) and 0.07 for delivery . I am having shares worth Rs, 350000 in the demat account on which they are providing 75% margin that is 262500 which i can use for buying equity and Futures & Option . Only I need to is just click on the margin request on holding securities no need of pledging which you are doing at present. They are going to provide the same till all the debit in the cash segment are cleared with maximum of 7 working days . In futures and options if you are clearing the mark to mark margins within 7 days is enough. There is no need of pledging or depledging , due to which there are no pledging charges. Secondly the securities on which I have been given margin can be sold on anytime from the day 1 . there are no restrictions. I can sell those shares if I get gud opportunity, say some day one scrip goes up by say 10 percent justlike what happened in case of PSU banks where i sold my entire PSU state even while i was enjoying the margin facility which has been brought down nextday. I would like to get the same facility from Zerodha, if your firm can provide the same to me I do not have issues in opening the account. This margin facility is also given be almost all leading broking firms like Sharekhan, ILFS. angel broking, Geojit BNP, religare and others . Please clarify so that I can decide on the matter at the earliest.

    • Hi, it was not possible earlier as we had a tie up with IL&FS (not IIFL) for our dp/demat business. We have just gone live on our own demat business where this should be possible in the future next 4 to 5 weeks.

Hi team zerodha you all doing well . Your kite platform is very good and user friendly. Can you develop a new mobile app for Android devices for Back Office use ?

  14. Ramkumar G says:

This is regarding recent change in 60 day challenge.

I won the last challenge and my brokerage is 88,000. But yday Zerodha changed the policy saying only 30k would be refunded. This is not known to me earlier, if known i could have traded differently.

Changing the rule coated me 58,000 Rupees now.

The change in rule should only be applicable for new challenge starting after 1st Sep

It is sad to see slowly Zerodha is becoming like other brokerage firms. May be it has grown too big and it is not able to sustain their previous policy.

I AM 15 YEARS OLD AND I AM DOING TRADING SINCE 1 YEARS ON BEHALF OF MY FATHER’S ACCOUNT . BUT NOW I WANT TO SAVE MY MONEY BY OPENING MY ACCOUNT AT ZERODHA. I WANT TO KNOW THAT IF A PERSON HAS MINOR PAN CARD THEN HE IS ABLE TO OPEN ACCOUNT AT ZERODHA. OR THE MINIMUM AGE FOR OPEN AN ACCOUNT IS 18 YEARS. I ALSO HAVE AADHAR CARD AS A ADDRESS PROOF.

  16. sunil utekar says:

    hi
sir i want to open trading ac with zerodha. I have already demat ac with sharekhan. I have a pan card and voter id but the problem is my sign on cancelled cheque is diff from pan card what can i do. Can i use bank passbook as bank ac proof.

    • Cancelled cheque leaf need not be signed. It is just the proof of your bank account. But make sure you are signing on the account opening form like the way it is on your PAN card.

Is calculation of renko charts in pi different from others?

Never used it before, so was researching about it.

Renko charts ignores time factor and only looks at price change. But then why does renko charts of different timeframes look different?

Also, for Box size 2 if the price increases by 4, then 2 boxes are created. Yesterday, Crude price gapped up significantly, but I think only one box was created at that time.

I tried Algogeek’s algorithm that he provided in another thread, but that was getting triggered even before a box was complete. Gold’s renko box was flickering from red and green continuously for some time causing the algo to get triggered. How to know whether the box drawn is complete and will not recede even when you are looking at the chart?

    • star says:

I believe Renko chart formations are right but the values displayed are of candle sticks. One can use candle charts for generation of signals until few issues around Renko charts are fixed.

Congratulation on Big Success of Zerodha Team.
The best Broker in the India. And Most down to earth CEO. I must say.
they really works for small traders with lowest brokerage in the market.
when i was new to trading. so many people had suggested me, that trading is so tough. you have to hard work atleast 2 years to understand, how market works.
but thanks to zerodha…… i learnt almost everything in two months.
varsity/z-connect/Email Support/SPAN Calc/Brokerage Calc and so many tools to learn everything about trading.

    Thanks To Zerodha Team.

    Hi Nithin,

I had a bad experience with Zerodha, not sure it was only that day or consistent .

I wanted some emergency fund and had sold my stock on Wednesday . So as per the rule book T+2 , i should be able to withdraw fund on Friday after the market hours .In fact i placed the request around 5.30 or so not later than 6 , but the amount never got credit to my account either same day or on Saturday .

I had to re-place the order on Monday which i got the money credit on Tuesday .

Please let me know if i sell it on Wednesday, will i be able to draw fund and cash get deposited on Friday or Saturday

    Regards.

Can you confirm if you have started accepting applications for account opening for your own demat?

      • vd says:

thanks cool……so the applicaiton form that I presently find in the downloads section is an updated one for Zerodha demat?

          • vd says:

My excitement to open a zerodha trading and demat account has started to fizzle out. I was following up and waiting for zerodha to have it’s own DP. When I got a call on last saturday from Noida office that Zerodha has now it’s own account enabled. I was quite excited to hear that. Very next Monday I had submitted the application . Although zerodha claims opening the trading account in a day, I am yet following up on the account creation on the 5th day. If yet not received the trading account, god knows when Demat will be created. That means several opportunities lost.
I am still hoping for a good start with Zerodha, and don’t want the worst fears of my friends about the service quality from discount brokers to come true

I am loving Kite, it is so different from all trading platforms I have been on before. If you can make sure all the indicators are working on the charts, it will be a dream.
