Equitas Small Finance Bank's board on June 24 approved a plan to seek shareholders' nod for raising up to ₹1,250 crore through a qualified institutions placement and up to ₹500 crore via non-convertible debentures on a private placement basis. The enabling resolutions will be placed before the bank's tenth annual general meeting, scheduled for September 9, 2026, and remain subject to regulatory approvals. Separately, the board re-appointed P.N. Vasudevan as managing director and CEO for a further three years from July 23, 2026, based on RBI approval, and named Mukund Shyamrao Barsagade as the new chief financial officer effective July 1, succeeding N. Sridharan, who retires upon superannuation. Taraka Ramana Prathipati was appointed interim chief risk officer for six months following the end of the incumbent CRO's term.

June 20 (Reuters) - India's central bank on Friday reduced the mandated portion of lending that small finance banks have to extend to priority sectors such as agriculture and small businesses, lowering it by 15 percentage points.
Small finance banks currently have to extend 75% of their loans to priority sectors. After a review, the Reserve Bank of India has effectively cut the requirement to 60% of total lending.
