DCM Shriram Ltd.’s ₹249.27 crore income-tax demand is set to be deleted after the Income-tax Appellate Tribunal (ITAT) granted substantial relief in an order issued on July 3, 2026. The tribunal allowed relief of ₹172.82 crore out of ₹178.24 crore of contested additions for the assessment year 2022-23, leaving only ₹5.42 crore to be revisited by the assessing officer. The ITAT also directed the tax officer to correct computational errors, including proper set-off of carried-forward MAT credit. The company had earlier disclosed the demand in November 2025 and obtained a stay from the same tribunal in February 2026. DCM Shriram will now apply to the assessing officer to give effect to the order and formally delete the demand.
