Refex Holding Private Limited, the promoter of Refex Industries, created a pledge over 20.9 lakh Refex shares on August 10 in favour of Northern Arc Capital as collateral for loans taken by the company. A release of 24.08 lakh previously pledged shares accompanied the new pledge, leaving 3.3459 crore shares encumbered, or 24.38% of total share capital. The encumbered block represented 43.10% of the promoter's 56.57% holding, below the 50% threshold. Refex's ash-handling business accounted for ₹610 crore of its ₹619 crore standalone continuing revenue in the June quarter.
