** Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) offload 199.01 billion rupees ($2.27 billion) worth of Indian IT stocks in July, their highest sectoral exit since March 2022, data from National Securities Depository shows

** Lacklustre earnings and a weak demand outlook spook sentiment in the IT sector, two analysts say

** The Nifty IT index .NIFTYIT slumps 9% for the month, dragged by subdued results from TCS TCS.NS, HCLTech HCLT.NS, and Tech Mahindra TEML.NS

**IT sees the heaviest selling among all sectors in July, pushing total FPI outflows to 177.41 billion rupees ($2.02 billion)—a five-month high

** Manish Goel, MD at Equentis Wealth, attributes the exodus to disappointing earnings, a stronger U.S. dollar, and uncertainty around U.S.-India trade talks

** Beyond IT, FPIs also offload financials, snapping a four-month buying streak, while oil & gas, realty, consumer durables, and auto also witness outflows
