Axita Cotton submitted an expression of interest on 21 August to participate in the corporate insolvency resolution process of Varidhi Cotspin Private Limited, with the stated aim of acquiring the company. Varidhi operated a cotton-yarn spinning facility in Dholka, Gujarat, with 29,184 spindles and capacity of roughly 4,442 tonnes a year. Its products included ring-spun, compact, combed and carded cotton yarn for hosiery and weaving. Axita said the proposed acquisition would complement its cotton-manufacturing operations and broaden its presence across the textile value chain. The expression of interest did not disclose consideration, financing terms or certainty of a completed acquisition. Axita's FY26 revenue was ₹370.40 crore and its net profit was ₹1.90 crore. Its 55%-owned KPR Sports and Media subsidiary had no FY25 revenue and recorded a loss after tax of ₹4.22 crore.

Axita Cotton's statutory auditor, P K N & Co, resigned on August 12, 2026, before the end of its scheduled term. The firm attributed the decision to internal administrative and operational restructuring that changed the availability and deployment of partner and professional resources. It expressly said the resignation did not arise from disagreements, accounting policies, audit scope, access to information, or audit evidence concerns. P K N & Co had been appointed after Mistry & Shah LLP resigned as Axita Cotton's statutory auditor in August 2025.
