Introducing Yoska
If you’ve been hitting the gym regularly for years, you know that feeling when it starts getting repetitive. You’re still showing up because it’s become second nature, but the spark isn’t quite there anymore. You start wondering, what else can I do to make this more interesting? Maybe something competitive and that feels less lonely?
There are tons of fitness options out there, and people are trying everything: gyms, yoga studios, running clubs. But here’s what I’ve noticed: most of these are still pretty individual experiences. You might be in a room full of people, but you’re doing your own thing. It’s hard to know if you’re really improving without some clear goals, trying out different challenges, and tracking how you’re doing in areas like strength, endurance, and agility altogether. Without that structure or challenge, things can get stale pretty quickly. People hit plateaus, lose motivation, and suddenly fitness becomes just another thing on their to-do list instead of something they actually enjoy or feel excited about.
HYROX and IRONMAN are two initiatives that are filling this gap by getting more creative with their formats. HYROX has this cool format where you do eight rounds of 1km running mixed with functional movements, sled pushes, sandbag carries, wall balls, that kind of stuff. It’s structured but varied, which is exactly what most workouts are missing. They have different categories for singles, doubles, relay teams, and pro level. Anyone can jump in. At the Mumbai event, there were busy professionals racing alongside a 78-year-old. That’s pretty cool. IRONMAN is the other extreme swimming, cycling, and running all in one race. It’s the kind of goal that makes you train consistently for months because you have to. Both of these are now happening in India under Yoska, which is exciting. Finally, some options that give you that competitive edge and community feel, while actually challenging you in different ways.
Both IRONMAN and HYROX are being brought and operated in India under the Yoska banner. Deepak Raj is the founder of Yoska, and he has spent years first bringing and now building endurance sports in India.
Founder’s Note:
When we started Yoska in 2013, our goal was simple: to make fitness more inclusive, purposeful, and sustainable. Our journey with IRONMAN began with IRONMAN 70.3 Goa in 2019, which has become a landmark event for endurance athletes in India.
Now, with HYROX, we’re creating a space for people to test themselves in new ways. Personally, these formats have helped me stay consistent, sharpen focus, and find community, less about being the fastest, more about showing up. We believe the same opportunity should exist for everyone.
