Update on Zerodha Fund House
As we take stock of our journey so far, it’s humbling to see how far we’ve come in such a short time. What started as an idea —to make investing truly simple, affordable, and democratic—is now taking shape in ways that reaffirm our core beliefs.
At Zerodha Fund House, we’ve set out to build not just another AMC, but an ecosystem that genuinely makes investing accessible to everyone. For too long, the world of mutual funds and capital markets has felt out of reach for the average Indian investor. We wanted to change that. We’re using the best of technology and product design to build transparent, cost-efficient, index-based funds that are easy to understand—and open to all.
The Journey So Far
When we launched in late 2023, we began with a clear conviction: that index-based investing is the most efficient, transparent way to participate in markets. You don’t need to predict which fund manager will outperform, or try to time the market. You just need to stay consistent, diversified, and patient.
We started with our first Index Fund, and slowly began expanding the offering designed for a long-term investor’s portfolio. Today, we’ve grown to close to ₹6,400 crores in assets under management and serve more than 7 lakh investors across India.
More than just the numbers, what truly drives us is knowing who we’re serving. Whether it’s first-time investors starting with small-ticket SIPs, working professionals planning for retirement, or young savers from Tier 2 and 3 towns, we keep all of them in mind while designing our products and solutions. Because for us, every investor matters.

Product Ecosystem
Every fund we launch is built around a clear idea: to give people the tools to build wealth through simple, cost-effective, diversified products. Here’s how we’re doing that:
- In equities, we started with the LargeMidcap 250 Index Fund and expanded into ETFs like TOP100CASE and MID150CASE, helping investors gain broad exposure across large and mid-sized companies in just one go.
- In precious metals, we started with GOLDCASE and a Gold Fund of Funds, and recently introduced SILVERCASE. These products are designed to offer digital, cost-effective access to gold and silver—assets that Indian families have trusted for generations.
- In debt, we launched LIQUIDCASE—India’s first growth-NAV based liquid ETF—because we saw a gap in the liquid ETF market, where all the incumbent ETFs were dividend paying – which made them a hassle to track.
Each of these products was developed with our core philosophy in mind: making investing simple, transparent, and cost-effective. The rapid adoption of LIQUIDCASE particularly demonstrates that investors are looking for innovative solutions that don’t compromise on these principles.

Making Investing More Human
We believe that technology should bring investing closer to people’s everyday lives, to the extent that investing should feel like sending a message. Hence we launched investing via WhatsApp in August last year—a first of its kind in the industry. While this began as a soft launch for existing investors, the journey has gone through multiple iterations based on user feedback.
Today, with just a few taps, an investor can buy or sell mutual funds, and track their portfolio, all within the WhatsApp interface. No new app downloads, no complex steps. Soon, we’re opening this up to everyone. First-time investors will be able to onboard and start investing directly through WhatsApp — making it one of the simplest ways to begin their financial journey.
We also feel investing should be extremely accessible. Whether someone wants to invest ₹100 or ₹10,000, they should be able to do it. Hence we particularly kept the minimum investment amounts low. This ensures that anyone, regardless of income or geography, can start building a nest-egg and take control of their financial future.
Looking Forward
We’re still just getting started. In the months to come, you’ll see more digital touchpoints, smarter interfaces, and new features that continue to put the investor at the center.
We’ll keep building thoughtfully, with a focus on products that genuinely help people create long-term wealth—without complexity or jargon. Our mission is to help more Indians move their money from savings into investments, and to do so in a way that is sustainable, transparent, and empowering.
At Zerodha Fund House, we believe the future of investing in India will be passive, simple, and widely accessible. We’re proud to be part of shaping that future—one product, one investor, one step at a time.
Thank you for being part of the journey.
Mutual fund investments are subject to market risks, read all scheme related documents carefully
Don\’t want to sound too negative about ZFH but had too much expectation from ZFH about release of different index funds and ETFs but have been massively disappointed. Other than one index fund (Nifty Largemidcap 250 index) which they think is enough for retail investors no other index fund came out. Same with ETFs in equity segment. Just two ETFs and looks like ZFH slept after there release. Could release a lot of index funds (broad market, factor based index) and ETFs. But calling themselves passive only fund house but not releasing even single fund other than for one index isn\’t going to move investors into fund house.
Hi, Zerodha has been the best in terms of charges, convenience, portability, speed and innovation when it started. I shifted myself from ICICI Direct to zerodha. Because i did not want the unnecessary advice for stock picking for profit by giving more charges to that platform. Instead i wanted the simple broker only service with minimum charges. Today\’s in the technology era every investor is smart enough to take their decisions and also they can bear there losses too. I hope Zerodha will continue it\’s position with the same pace and trust of inventor\’s and traders.
I think the world is changing very rapidly. Now to starting a business is not to big deal, instead to maintain it\’s position. Even a very little blur on the focus can result the example like Paytm, Byju\’s and WazirX. These all were the leader\’s someday on their field. Today\’s the effort like Groww or Kotak is doing really appreciable. But initially they were too far behind then us. I am sure many investors don\’t want to switch from Zerodha to anywhere else like me. But please keep on the innovation and affordability for the small investor like me.
Let i give a small tip to coming future to stock broking industry. Now the generative AI has been the past news. Now the AI Automation or Agentic AI is current demanding topic in almost every industry. I think our Zerodha should work more with pace to automation trading with no or low cost. Even some of the new comers have already started, but they are not so trusted. That\’s by only they are not gaining so much attention of the mob. But, as the such feature targeted by the above appreciated guys. They can gain the flood of retain and new users.
Thank You.
That\’s the difference between the Service Broker and the Discount Broker. Zerodha is timely innovating their platform to its subscribers. I have been keenly watching and understanding the new features that are deployed time to time.
I miss this platform supporting buying or unlisted share. please check the possibility of adding the same.
I am not sure if this platform already have tool or option to find not performing shared or MF from individuals portfolio.
Currently Igo through respecting share one by one and check annual return
Hi Ashok, you cannot buy unlisted securities through Zerodha. However, if the securities are available in the depository, they can be held electronically in the demat account. We simply require more ETFs that are pledgeable for trading purposes.
when we buy mutual fund units for Rs.1000/- Coin shows a value of Rs.999.90/- This makes difference in P&L.
Investors always looks for actual P&L. They don\’t bother about NAV decimal places, profit or loss in a few mutual fund units etc. But they looks for overall P&L at any point of time because this is a serious long term business.
Now i make separate Excel sheet file to know my correct P&L at any point of time by giving formula. This Excel sheet has to be updated on a regular basis manually when i invest & redeem mutual funds. This is little difficult for me, as i want to keep a separate book to know my real P&L. So what is the need of Coin ? Therefore i request you to make a separate tab in Coin & Console, displaying the \”movement of funds\” (pay-in & pay-out amounts) from our bank a/c, when we buy & sell mutual funds by selecting from & to dates. It should display the actual overall P&L till now, by calculating the difference between Pay-in & Pay-out of funds to our bank a/c + Current value of our mutual fund holdings. Then only we can evaluate our trading & investment business properly.
If we simply look to P&L report in Console, apart from realised & unrealised profit/ loss, there were other charges like brokerage, taxes etc. displayed & is difficult to find out the overall correct P&L from the very beginning to till this date. So please show \”overall profit & loss\” based on the movement of funds from our bank a/c, rather than the difference of individual buy & sale of mutual funds.
I agree with NK
Completely agree
Kindly include a section to import & analyse all \”external\” mutual funds (with other AMCs) as well so as to see & manage the whole portfolio in single window. Thanks.
Hi Digvijay, this is on our list of things to do. Thanks for your feedback.
1. In Mutual Fund Watchlist, we need a feature to alphabetically define and also 1,2,3, 5 year performance. This we should be able to download for our future use.
2. Please try to see what other sites are offering. This will give you much more information. Try to enhance Similar Watchlist as Moneycontrol site.
3. We need facilities for creating more than One Watchlist for Mutual funds.
Happy With Zerodha. Excellent Support.

Zerodha etf expense is one of the highest amongst other similar etf. Is there a plan to review the same?
Hey Shweta. The expense ratio goes down with scale. As the fund grows, the expense ratio will automatically go down.
Please launch a dividend paying ETF which only inclued REITS & INVITS stocks.
There is no such ETF in market currently. I am individually investing into REITs and INVITs for regular passive income.
But a REIT ETF with diversification in all REITS as per their market cap would make job of investers like me so much easier and worthy.
US has such REIT dividend ETFs but India doesn\’t. Please be the first fund house to launch such real estate ETF with quarterly dividend payouts to investors. 🙏

Since you mentioned \”building thoughtfully\”, I would like to share an idea(may be it\’s not a new one)
I started my investing journey in 2019 and Zerodha became the first platform I started with. As time passed I started trying new investing strategies, often these strategies require same scrip to be bought, at times it become difficult to manage different strategies under one account and hence felt a need to open another account with a different broker. Now I have accounts with three brokers.
Zerodha being the best, I was thinking, how beautiful it would be if one can manage multiple investing strategies and see P/L of each separately as like a child account under one parent account.
This way one will not have to open multiple accounts for trying different investing strategies.
Of course, there will be lot of challenges implementing this, but I think Zerodha can do it sooner or later

The fact that zerodha takes the time to actually be transparent about the things they\’re doing, makes them the only trustworthy institution for investment, and my go to now.
P.S. I do have one gripe with coin though. Why can we not have SoA based MFs on coin? Why? Just why?
