Option chain now available for NSE Commodities

Option chain has been available on Kite for equity and index options for a while. It is now available for options traded in NSE Commodity (NCO) as well.

If you trade commodity options on NSE, you can now view calls and puts across different strike prices in one place, compare relevant contract data, and place orders directly from the option chain instead of checking individual contracts separately.

To view the new option chain on Kite:

1. Search for a contract
2. Click + to add it to marketwatch
3. Hover over the instrument and click More
4. Select the Option chain to open it on the same page, or use the popout icon for a new tab

What is NCO?

NSE has a commodity derivatives segment where futures and options on commodities are traded. On Kite, this segment is available as NSE Commodity (NCO).

NSE currently offers commodity derivatives across bullion, energy, base metals, and electricity. These include contracts on gold, silver, crude oil, natural gas, copper, aluminium, lead, zinc, and nickel, along with electricity futures.

For options specifically, NSE has contracts on commodities including gold, silver, crude oil, natural gas, copper, and zinc.

If you trade commodity options, one thing to keep in mind is that option expiry dates can differ from the expiry of the underlying futures contract, and the rules can also vary by exchange. For example, crude oil options on NSE expire seven business days before the underlying futures contract.
