Introducing option chain on Kite
Options traders rely on option chains to spot opportunities and make informed decisions. Think of it as your trading dashboard—showing all available contracts, strike prices, premiums, and market sentiment in one view. We have redesigned the option chain on Kite to bring together market depth, trading, and position tracking all in one place, making it simpler to manage your trades
The all-new Option Chain on Kite shows all strike prices, volumes, premiums, Greeks, and Open Interest (OI) data in a single view to ensure you have all the data points you need to take an informed trade. Along with this, you can use all the tools available on Sensibull to create and analyse your trades before placing them. The option chain is live on Kite web and will soon be available on the mobile app.
To view the new option chain on Kite:
- Search for a contract or index
- Click + to add it to marketwatch
- Hover over the instrument and click More
- Select Option chain to open it on the same page, or use the popout icon for a new tab
Here’s everything you can do with the new option chain on Kite:
Easy strike price navigation
The option chain highlights the At-The-Money (ATM) strike price automatically. Click the ATM price to center your view around the current market price.
Red and green bars show open interest for calls and puts, giving you a quick idea of market sentiment.
Choose your expiry date from the options at the top. Each expiry shows the days remaining until expiry. The option chain refreshes to show all available strike prices for your selected expiry.
Quick trading
Hover over any strike price to instantly buy, sell, or add contracts to your watchlist.
The More menu shows you to create GTTs, set alerts, place ATOs, and check the market depth.
Position tracking
Monitor your open positions right in the chain. Long positions appear as blue P markers, and short positions as orange. Click on a position to see your quantity, average price, and P&L. Exit or modify positions directly without switching screens.
Market indicators
Make informed decisions with key metrics displayed at the bottom:
- Put Call Ratio (PCR)
- Max Pain
- At-The-Money Implied Volatility (ATM IV)
- IV Percentile
Need deeper analysis? Toggle the Greeks view to see Gamma, Vega, Theta, and Delta for every strike price.
Basket order for complex strategies
Build spreads or straddles efficiently with Basket mode. Add multiple orders, set their execution sequence, and place them all at once. The basket shows your initial and final margin requirements, including any margin benefits.
Search bar
Find any option chain quickly by clicking the search icon, typing in the contract or index name, and selecting the instrument from the results.
Full screen mode
With the popout icon, view the option chain in full screen. The expandable left sidebar shows:
- Detailed market depth
- Position tracking with total P&L
- Pending orders
Note: The new option chain is currently available on Kite web and is coming soon to the Kite app.
Ye bahut hi Kharab feature hai, option chain ka pahle wala feature sahi tha, Usme Chart disturb bhi nahi hota tha aur Strike ko select kiya jaa sakta tha, Mujhe Ab Dusre platform par Jana hoga… Brokerage ke hisab se ye facilities nahi de rahe hai….
Kindly add change in OI in the option chain. Total new contracts is better than percentage.
Please make it like “dhan app” with multiple chart at the same time in one screen and from where we can take trade too and trail stop loss….hope you can consider it

Why this option chain tab is not available on chart directly. The features for one screen one terminal should be available on zerodha like we have on dhan.

Hi Sundaram, the market indicators are displayed at the bottom, as shown in the example in the article. If you are not able to find it, please create a ticket at support.zerodha.com and provide a screenshot so we can get this checked
Need one more update, regarding that live candlestick pattern, on the right side showing the live rate, its ok. At the same time life side need the live countdown time with seconds, (for example if we using 5 minute candlestick, when the candlestick change from time to time, in between that time required show as -5:00 -4:59 -4:58 like). If you update this one, we more happy and appreciate.

Hi Faisal, the countdown to bar close is available on Trading View charts. You can access this from the chart settings at the bottom right corner of the screen.
All the excellent features that are added from time to time are fine… but when will the irritant of NOT BEING ABLE TO PLACE THE OPTION STRIKE OF OUR CHOICE…. especially the far OTMs…..be over. Or has the overflowing quota issue rectified now. We do not face the issue with other discount brokers.

When you toggle between the option chain and chart. the layout which was saved disappears.
All the supports and resistance marked vanishes. To bring it back we need to select the layout again.
Please see that the chart is not disturbed.

Hi Shirish, to ensure your specific settings, such as marked supports and resistances, are reloaded when you come back to the chart, you need to save these settings as the default layout. This way, your layout remains unchanged when you switch views.

Good move. The shading of OTM in both CE and PE can be darkened a bit or OTM can be suitably changed in colour/SHADE/opacity levels so that it is significantly clearer to view. Second, when Greeks are opened, the Nifty index shifts to the left, making it difficult to view.

While i appreciate the initiative, i think not enough thought has gone into impact of this new feature on other aspects.
Will list a few aspects here.
1. You added a horizontal bar for this new feature which has shrinked the charting space (the space available for charts) further in the UI.
2. Another discomforting feature is whenever we want to customise time frame we now have to scroll down the bar which was not the case earlier.
3. If we want to use measuring tools then the space becomes cramped in the charting space. Added to this there is already compare bar in the charting space which comes in the way of using measuring tools.
4. You just measure the ratio of charting space with that above it ans below it, You will get to how much charting space has been squeezed.
Possible Alterntives:
1. Give hide option for those who don’t want to use this option
2. Shift it adjascent to dashboard so that space of charts is not encroached.
3. Place this feature at the bottom near 1 day, 5 Day option horizontal column.

Everything is good but earlier in Option chain we can track change OI and Also OI in lacs but in new one we just able to watch only OI in Lakhs .. so Zerodha Team could you please tell me where I can change settings to get OI Change in options chain. it is available in SENSBULL but not in Zerodha now
I’m disappointed with this new feature. When I open the chart and click on the option chain, it replaces the chart and its settings. It would have been better if the previous pop-up on-screen option was kept for quickly adding to the watchlist, and the new feature could have worked well in a separate window. Please consider rolling back to the old version at least.

good initiative, I could not find OI charts(total OI and change in OI). Is it missing for me not not available?
OI charts present an easy to comprehend and monitor way of tracking than data sheet.

YES, COMBO OPTION CHART (COMBINED CANDLE OF 2 OR MORE STRIKES) IS VERY MUCH NEEDED.
Feedback…change the font please..it is irritating, keep it simple
kindly add combo option chart, like adding two or more strike price -combo option to make one candle or price and allow to put indicators like moving averages on it.

I liked old option chain. In new option chain, we cannot enter and see new scrip in header of the option chain.
