Introducing Markets by Zerodha

It’s a weird paradox that we have so much financial content, but so little of it is good. Most of what passes for financial content today is dangerous nonsense. Sadly, this gets the maximum attention. At Zerodha, we have always tried to publish high-quality content from day 1 on all things markets, from Varsity, Z-Connect, to Zero1, and more. Most of the content we published was educational and evergreen in nature.

The one type of content we hadn’t created was topical content about what’s happening in the markets. So we figured we might as well do this along with all the other things we are already doing. We have started a new channel called Markets by Zerodha, where the goal is to simplify the biggest developments in the markets.

Instead of just the “what,” we’ll talk about the “why” and the “how. Think of this as a news channel, but slower, deeper, and better 🙂 Right now, most of the content is in English, but in a few weeks, everything will be available in Hindi as well.

The daily brief

This is a daily audio and video series where we explain the 3–5 biggest developments in both the Indian and global markets within 10–15 minutes. This podcast helps you know just enough to look like a market expert in front of your friends and managers. You can watch the show on YouTube or listen to it on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, or any other podcasting app. We also send this out as a daily newsletter, in case you prefer text.

The big picture

This is a weekly interview series where we talk to some of the smartest people in the markets about the big trends shaping the markets and the economy. In the first episode, we spoke to Deepak Shenoy of Capitalmind about the road ahead for Indian markets and the economy. You can listen to these interviews on Spotify and Apple Podcasts as well. 

It’s the economy, stupid

This is a weekly Hindi series based on the weekly blog by the same name we publish on Z-Connect. The problem with most macroeconomic content is that it feels like Greek and Latin. The idea with both the blog and the videos is to simplify key macroeconomic trends in a given week.
