Updates for commodity traders
We’ve added two features on MCX that address some of the everyday friction in commodity trading, managing entry and exits, and tracking contract-specific details.
GTT orders for MCX
Commodity prices often react to global cues such as geopolitical developments, currency movements, and macroeconomic releases, sometimes beyond regular market hours. Not everyone can monitor positions throughout the day.
With GTT, you can place long-validity orders for your commodity futures and options on MCX. Once set, these remain active for up to one year, until expiry, or until triggered, whichever comes first. This allows you to plan your entry or exit in advance instead of tracking price movements constantly. Learn more about GTT orders here.
You can also place stoploss and target using GTT while taking positions by selecting the Stoploss and Target options in the order window.

If you already hold a position, you can create a GTT from the context menu in Positions or Marketwatch. Any changes to a GTT order can be made by going to Orders > GTT.

MCX info widget
Unlike equity derivatives, commodity contracts don’t follow a single structure. Expiry dates differ across products. Some contracts move into a tender period. Lot sizes and tick sizes vary. Trading hours aren’t uniform. Settlement can be physical or cash, depending on the contract.
To reduce confusion, we’ve added the MCX Info Widget. It brings key contract details into one place—expiry date, last trading day, lot size, tick size, trading hours, and other contract specifications, so you don’t have to search for them separately.
To access the widget from the Kite app, tap on any MCX contract in the watchlist and then on Info.

On the Kite web, access it by selecting Info from the context menu.

At Zerodha, we offer a single-ledger facility. This means you can trade commodities using the same funds you use for equity, no separate balance is required. Learn more about single ledger.

Please start trailing stop loss facility for commodities also. Its an absolute must and will be a big benefit to commodity traders
Hi Saurabh, we’re working on this. We’ll keep you posted.
Thats I just Love Zerodha. Always user-friendly. Till date i hv referred Zerodha to all my new-comer friends and relatives and all of them are using Zerodha now. I never took 1 paisa reference benefits. What I want that zerodha continues in this manner so that small traders like us can benefit. Thank u Zerodha team.
Please start agri commodities
GTT expiry for F&C are not one year. Pl correct.
Pl give provision to edit and prepone the order expiry date bec we do not want to place an entry GTT in the last week of it’s expiry date. This is a risk mitigation plan.
Dear Zerodha Team,
I have requested multiple times, along with many other clients, to introduce a cumulative profit and loss auto exit feature for option traders. This is very important because it involves hard-earned money, and proper risk control tools are essential for retail traders.
Currently, several other trading platforms provide this facility. It would be extremely helpful if Zerodha could implement a feature where traders can set:
• Auto exit based on total cumulative profit or loss
• Option to apply auto exit to selected positions only (not all positions)
This is necessary because traders often hold a mix of long-term, short-term, and intraday positions simultaneously. A blanket exit for all positions is not practical. The flexibility to choose specific positions for auto-exit would make the system much more efficient and safer.
This request has been pending for a long time. I sincerely request you to consider implementing this feature, as it would greatly benefit retail traders and enhance risk management discipline.
Thank you for your understanding and support.
I too suport ramesh

The letter size in ”Notes” is too small and it is straining my eyes. Others may also face the same problem. It will be helpful, if you can provide colour facility and facility to increase size of the letter, at the earliest.
