Introducing mutual fund tracking on Kite

March 6, 2025

Kite and Coin are two of our primary transaction platforms. Kite is designed for active traders, while Coin is meant for long-term investors who invest in mutual funds. Given the different use cases and audiences they are aimed at, we have kept both the platforms separate. Combining them would clutter the interface with features only relevant to some users.

Keeping these products separate gives them individual identities and allows for constant improvement without affecting other products.

Introducing mutual fund tracking on Kite

Having said that, one common request from our customers over the years has been for a single view to track all investments across stocks, bonds, and mutual funds. Users could already do this on Console along with rich portfolio analytics, but we have now added mutual fund tracking on Kite. You can view and manage all your investments directly on Kite Web.

To view your mutual fund investments on Kite web:

  1. Log in to your Kite account and go to the Holdings section
  2. Click the new tab labeled “Mutual Funds” to view all your investments

You can also manage your mutual fund investments from Kite:

  1. Click on More
  2. And then click on Add to invest more or Exit to redeem holdings

To view the purchase dates of your mutual fund investments, click on View Breakdown.

And to see how your investments are distributed across sectors and companies, click on Fund overview.

Note: This feature is currently available only on Kite Web but will soon be available on the Kite app.

Thanks for incorporating MFs icon in Kite web.Hope this facility too be available on Kite App.
At present ETFs are mingled in Kite and it becomes difficult to find p& l across all ETFs.As number of ETFs is too small as compared to shares, kindly give similar icons for ETFs on the lines of MFs.
Hope it too find favourable from your side.
You have been updating Webpage and App to make it customer friendly.keep it up
Again requesting different icon for ETFs on lines of MFs

When we open the mutual fund holding or all holding – I want to see an option of grouped viewing (ICICI direct has it since ages).
Example: when I open mutual fund section I want to see grouping by: Liquid, Other Debt, Hybrid, Equity.

When I open just direct equity holding – it has elements like Goldcase, liquidcase, nifty bees, or direct stock holdings – Please group them into stuff like that: Equity ETFs, Debt ETF, Commodity ETF, Direct stock holding

In case of “all”: Provide further summarised grouping

  5. Nishendu Shah says:

Long awaited… Will all mfs purchased in demat form?

    • Shruthi says:

Hi Nishendu, all mutual funds purchased through Coin are already held in demat form. The same applies for orders placed via Kite.

  6. Harold Menezes says:

Yes I do like this post

  7. Dixit Davey says:

    Great! Kudos to the Team.

A few suggestions: if Zerodha implements it, it’ll become a more powerful tool for investors.

    – Rectify the “Holdings discrepancies” for all the listed NCDs in Kite’s holding window. Holdings discrepancies do not give a clear picture of invested value vs. current value.
    – Bring in the option to bid for new open NCD issues in Kite. I have to use different providers just to bid for New NCD issues.
    – Increase the limit of the maximum number of secondary bank account linkages in our demat account from 2 to more.

    • Shruthi says:

Hi Dixit, your concern has been communicated to the relevant department. We’ll look into the possibilities.
As for the discrepancies, please create a ticket at support.zerodha.com so we can look into this.

  8. Babunaidu says:

    Congratulations

  9. Param says:

Congrats to the team. Like this if you are able to separate SGB from equity holding tabs it would be good to evaluate only stocks in Equity tab.

But unfortunately I work on a ship where internet is very sluggish. Many times my entire stock has gone at a low price as my internet was slow n not working at times. If possible make changes to this regard.

  18. Tripti says:
