Introducing TruNativ

August 23, 2024

We’re excited to announce our follow-on investment in TruNativ, a company dedicated to simplifying nutrition for Indian households.

We first met Pranav, TruNativ’s founder, in 2021. Coming from a strong background in the B2B protein industry, Pranav had developed an innovative whey protein formulation that is heat-resistant and flavourless, thus allowing it to be seamlessly added to any dish for a protein boost. We had backed him with a small cheque then, and have been lucky to be a part of the journey as the company has transformed into a holistic full-stack nutrition company catering to Indian dietary needs.

TruNativ operates as a direct-to-consumer brand through its website and e-commerce channels, offering functional foods like Everyday Protein, Everyday Fibre, and Everyday Sweetener. These products are made with natural, whole-food ingredients and contain no harmful additives.

Their focus on practical, accessible nutrition solutions aligns perfectly with our investment philosophy, so it was easy for us to double down on our partnership with them. Many of us within the Rainmatter team are also consumers of their products!

Here’s Pranav Malhotra, the founder of TruNativ, talking about his journey.

About Trunativ

When I founded TruNativ in late 2020, it was with a clear and heartfelt mission: to simplify nutrition for Indian households. Having previously built a sizable business in the B2B nutraceutical trade, I saw a glaring gap in the market— an urgent need for accessible, high-quality nutritional products tailored to the diverse needs of Indian consumers.

TruNativ was born out of this realization and a personal drive to make a meaningful impact. Our journey began with a simple question: How can we make everyday nutrition easier and healthier for everyone? From that moment, I committed to transforming the way people perceive and consume nutrition.

We have always prioritized natural, real, and whole food ingredients with proven clinical benefits. We aim to simplify consumption of macronutrients for Indian households, and to solve the daily challenges people face in their journey toward better health.

One of the moments that stands out to me was when we received feedback from a customer who shared that our natural sugar replacer made it possible for her diabetic father to enjoy sweets again. Stories like these remind us why we do what we do and fuel our passion to keep innovating.

India is known as the diabetic and heart disease capital of the world, and if we can make even a small difference in this landscape, it motivates us every morning.

As we embark on this new phase with Rainmatter as our lead investor, we are more motivated than ever. This partnership is about more than financial backing; it aligns us with a team that shares our vision for a healthier, more informed India.

Looking ahead, we aim to deepen our market penetration, enhance our product range, and continue to educate and empower our consumers. We have a clear vision: We want to make it in India, for India, and for the world.
