Goldman Sachs names veteran Kim Posnett as global TMT head - memo
May 3 (Reuters) - Goldman Sachs Group Inc GS.N has appointed veteran Kim Posnett as global head for its tech, media and telecommunications (TMT)investment banking group, according to a memo seen by Reuters.
A seasoned banker, Posnett is one of the few executives who spoke at the bank's investor day in February alongside its chief executive and finance head.
She currently leads an initiative called One Goldman Sachs that aims to integrate the bank's dealings with clients across teams and is the global head of investment banking services.
Her previous roles in the tech and media space included co-chief operating officer of TMT and head of the global internet business for Goldman Sachs.
As a TMT banker, Posnett has led more than 400 tech deals over the last 20 years. Some of her recent high-profile deals include Endeavor Group Holdings Inc's EDR.N purchase of World Wrestling Entertainment Inc WWE.N for $9.3 billion in April.
She joined the U.S. banking giant in 2005 and was named managing director in 2012 and partner in 2016.
Former TMT co-head for M&A Sam Britton will become a co-chairman of the unit, the memo said.
