We saw some sharp moves in the markets on election results after a long time. It was one of the <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Nithin0dha\/status\/1797968208504524948\">craziest days<\/a> we\u2019ve seen at Zerodha in a long time as well. While the markets seemed gloomy after the results, we are back to all-time highs.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/zerodha.com\/z-connect\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/June-2024-chart.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>There were some important regulatory changes as well:<\/p>\n<p>1. SEBI introduced new price band rules for stocks in the F&amp;O segment. We explained <a href=\"https:\/\/zerodha.com\/z-connect\/business-updates\/explainer-on-new-price-band-rules-for-stocks-trading-in-the-fo-segment\">what it means here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>2. Today, if you buy securities, the clearing corporation credits them to the broker, who in turn credits them to your demat account. This will no longer <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Nithin0dha\/status\/1798975729675420050\">be the case<\/a>. Securities will be directly credited to your demat.<\/p>\n<p>3. Nomination became easier. You just have to fill in three details now. In case you didn\u2019t know, adding a nominee to your demat is <a href=\"https:\/\/support.zerodha.com\/category\/your-zerodha-account\/nomination-process\/articles\/add-nominee-online-zerodha\">fully online<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>You can check out other regulatory changes <a href=\"https:\/\/tradingqna.com\/c\/trading\/announcements\/29\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>It was also a busy quarter for us in terms of features. We launched several cool features that solve problems for investors and traders. Here are the key feature updates in case you missed them.<\/p>\n<p><iframe width=\"100%\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/cBGYj08i3fo\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h4>Free account opening for those under 25<\/h4>\n<p>To encourage young people to start investing journeys early, we made account opening free for everybody under the age of 25. <a href=\"https:\/\/zerodha.com\/z-connect\/business-updates\/account-opening-now-free-under-the-age-of-25\">Read more<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h4>Notes on Kite marketwatch<\/h4>\n<p>If you are tracking multiple stocks and F&amp;O contracts on your marketwatch, it can be hard to remember all the reasons why. We introduced a new Notes feature to help you add a quick note right in your marketwatch. <a href=\"https:\/\/support.zerodha.com\/category\/trading-and-markets\/kite-web-and-mobile\/kite-mw\/articles\/notes-on-kite\">Read more<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h4>New Fundamentals widget on Kite<\/h4>\n<p>The fundamentals widget on Kite just got a whole lot better. The new widget is powered by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tijorifinance.com\/timeline\/all\">Tijori Finance<\/a> and gives you a quick fundamental snapshot for stocks, ETFs, and indices across metrics such as valuations, revenue breakdowns, financials, shareholding patterns, and more. Check out more <a href=\"<iframe width=\"100%\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ImxGFrHSNfE\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/a>.<\/p>\n<h4>Single ledger facility<\/h4>\n<p>You can now trade in both equity and commodity (MCX and NSE Commodity) segments with the same funds, without having to transfer funds separately. <a href=\"https:\/\/support.zerodha.com\/category\/your-zerodha-account\/account-modification-and-segment-addition\/segment-addition\/articles\/single-ledger\">Read more<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h4>Day\u2019s high-low bar on the Kite web<\/h4>\n<p>The High-Low bar gives you a visual representation of where the stock is trading compared to the day\u2019s high and low prices.<\/p>\n<h4>Increased instant withdrawal limit<\/h4>\n<p>When we first launched instant withdrawals, the maximum amount that could be withdrawn was \u20b925,000. We\u2019ve now increased this limit to \u20b9100,000. You can also withdraw funds on the weekends! \ud83d\ude00<\/p>\n<h4>Increase in the number of items that can be added to marketwatch<\/h4>\n<p>We\u2019ve increased the number of items you can add to the marketwatch from 50 to 100.<\/p>\n<h4>Economic calendar to track all economic events<\/h4>\n<p>One feature request we received from traders and investors was for a calendar to track events that could affect the markets. We recently launched an economic calendar, powered by IndiaDataHub, that helps you easily track all domestic and global economic events in one place. Check the calendar <a href=\"https:\/\/zerodha.com\/markets\/calendar\/\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h4>New page to track approved list of securities<\/h4>\n<p>To make it easier for you to track the approved list of securities that you can pledge for collateral margin, we created a new page. Check it out <a href=\"https:\/\/zerodha.com\/approved-securities#tab-noncash_equity\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h4>Enhanced pledging experience<\/h4>\n<p>Earlier, pledging multiple securities was cumbersome because you had to pledge each security separately. Depending on the time you placed the request, you had to wait for its processing at 2 PM or 5 PM after pledging, and then verify it on the CDSL website. We simplified this process. You can now easily pledge multiple securities at once and authorize the pledge request immediately. <a href=\"https:\/\/support.zerodha.com\/category\/console\/portfolio\/pledging\/articles\/how-do-i-pledge-my-shares-to-get-collateral-margin\">Learn more<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h4>Portfolio and scripwise XIRR on Console<\/h4>\n<p>If you have made one-off investments, then you can look at absolute returns. But if you have made periodic investments similar to an SIP, for example, then you have to look at XIRR rather than absolute returns. You can now check the XIRR for both individual investments and the entire portfolio on Console. <a href=\"https:\/\/support.zerodha.com\/category\/console\/portfolio\/holdings\/articles\/xirr-and-cagr-for-equity\">Read more<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>Coin<\/h3>\n<h4>Portfolio XIRR on Coin<\/h4>\n<p>On Coin, we already showed XIRR for individual investments. We\u2019ve now added portfolio level XIRR as well, so you can see how your mutual fund portfolio is performing. <a href=\"https:\/\/support.zerodha.com\/category\/mutual-funds\/coin-app\/features-on-coin-app\/articles\/xirr-on-coin-app\">Learn more<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h4>In-app UPI experience for mutual fund investments on the Coin app<\/h4>\n<p>In the Coin app, we&#8217;ve introduced a new payment flow for UPI transactions, which makes payments much easier. The in-app UPI feature in the Coin app enables investors to make payments for mutual fund investments without switching to external apps. <a href=\"https:\/\/support.zerodha.com\/category\/mutual-funds\/transaction-and-reports\/transactions-on-coin\/articles\/set-up-upi-coin-app\">Learn more<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h4>Track mutual fund investments on the fund NAV graph<\/h4>\n<p>You can now see a visual representation of your mutual fund investments on the NAV graph of mutual fund schemes. This shows you when you invested in a particular fund. <a href=\"https:\/\/support.zerodha.com\/category\/mutual-funds\/transaction-and-reports\/transactions-on-coin\/articles\/orders-on-nav-graph\">Learn more<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h4>Minor and NRE account holders can now invest in mutual funds on Coin<\/h4>\n<p>If you have a minor account in your child&#8217;s name, you can now directly invest in mutual funds from their account. <a href=\"https:\/\/support.zerodha.com\/category\/mutual-funds\/understanding-mutual-funds\/about-mutual-funds\/articles\/mf-for-minors\">Read more<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>We have now also made it possible for Non-Resident External (NRE) account holders to invest in mutual funds on Coin.<\/p>\n<h4>Other Coin enhancements<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>A new sorting mechanism has been added that allows you to filter and sort holdings, SIPs, and SWPs on both the Coin web and the Coin app.<\/li>\n<li>A new learning section with Varsity videos helps you learn everything you need to know about personal finance.<\/li>\n<li>New P&amp;L, scheme-wise breakdown, portfolio XIRR, and more for NPS.<\/li>\n<li>NPS scheme pages that show historical scheme performance.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Online submission of DDPI<\/h4>\n<p>SEBI introduced Demat Debit Pledge Instruction (DDPI) as a replacement for Power of Attorney (POA). You can now submit DDPI online. Submitting DDPI also eliminates the need for CDSL\u2019s TPIN and OTP authorization during the sale of securities. This is useful if you have GTT orders, because they won&#8217;t trigger without the CDSL authorization. <a href=\"https:\/\/tradingqna.com\/t\/you-can-now-submit-ddpi-online\/165127\">Read more<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h4>Varsity Live<\/h4>\n<p>While we\u2019ve solved the problem of providing high-quality and free content for everyone, the one problem that remained was an interactive learning experience. Maybe this is partly why people pay for scammy seminars. So, we figured we might as well do something about it.<\/p>\n<p>Varsity Live makes your learning experience about financial markets interactive. Instead of just listening to experts, you can learn by doing with them. For instance, you can apply indicators while learning about technical analysis, or analyze a balance sheet while learning about fundamental analysis. We have started a new series on the Varsity YouTube channel. The 10-part series goes through all the shareholder letters from 1977. You can check them <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/@Zero1byZerodha\">out here<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<h4>Updates on Zerodha fund house<\/h4>\n<p>After the launch of liquid and gold ETFs earlier this year, we launched two more ETFs based on the Nifty 100 and Nifty Midcap 150 indices. These ETFs give you low-cost exposure to the top 100 large cap companies and the top 150 mid cap companies. You can now build a diversified portfolio with just Zerodha ETFs \ud83d\ude00<\/p>\n<h4>Account block<\/h4>\n<p>We have introduced a facility for our clients to voluntarily freeze\/block their online trading account access. In case they want to block access to Kite, they can reach out to us via a dedicated email address, phone number, or <a href=\"https:\/\/support.zerodha.com\/category\/trading-and-markets\/kite-web-and-mobile\/others\/articles\/blocked-due-to-suspicious-activity\">support portal<\/a>.
