Surveillance measure on scrips - September 2026

In order to enhance market integrity and safeguard the interest of investors, SEBI and exchanges, have introduced various surveillance measures, such as reduction in price bands, periodic call auctions, and moving securities to the Trade to Trade (T2T) segment from time to time.

Enhanced Surveillance Measure (ESM) Stage II: Scrips will be under Trade to Trade category with a price band of 2%, and the trading will be permitted on all trading days under Periodic Call Auction. Read more.

Graded Surveillance Measure (GSM) Stage III: Scrips will be permitted for trading only once a week (Every Monday or the 1st trading day of the week) and an Additional Surveillance Deposit (ASD) of 100% of the trade value to be deposited by the buyer.

Additional surveillance measure (ASM): Scrips will be undergoing an Insolvency Resolution Process (IRP) as per the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC) and the stock will trade only once a week (Every Monday or the 1st trading day of the week).

Update [9:00 AM]: Funds are now showing correctly.

Due to a delay in receiving trade reports from the exchange, the average price for MCX commodity positions for some clients is showing as “NA/0” on Kite, and funds are also being displayed incorrectly. We’re in touch with the exchange to resolve this at the earliest.

Additional exposure margin on securities under MWPL

Starting August 28, 2026, an additional exposure margin of 15% in the equity derivatives segment will be levied on F&O contracts of securities where the top 10 clients together account for more than 20% of the Market-Wide Position Limit (MWPL).

For securities where an additional surveillance margin is already applicable, the higher of the additional exposure margin or the additional surveillance margin will be levied.

This framework will apply immediately after the expiry of August 2026 derivative contracts. The list of securities is as follows:

Settlement Holiday on account of Id-E-Milad on August 26, 2026

August 26, 2026, will be a settlement holiday on account of Id-E-Milad.

A settlement holiday is a day when trading is possible, but clearing and settlement are closed for Payin and Payout of stocks and funds.

Your account balance will not include the following credits on August 26, 2026:

Intraday profits made in the Equity segment on August 25, 2026.
Credits from trades made in NFO and Currency derivatives on August 25, 2026. This will include options premium credits, futures M2M profits, etc.
Credits from trades made in Commodity derivatives on August 25, 2026. This will include options premium credits, futures M2M profits, etc.

You can check your fund statement on Console to see the unsettled credits in your account.

Note:

The currency markets will remain closed for the day.
The auction market will be closed.
Profits and credits received from equity trades or exiting positions in the derivatives segment (F&O and CDS) on August 25, 2026, and on August 26, 2026, will be available for withdrawal on August 27, 2026, by EOD.
BTST (Buy Today, Sell Tomorrow) transactions are not allowed for MTF stocks on August 26, 2026, shares purchased on August 25, 2026, and on August 26, 2026, can be sold on August 27, 2026.
